Mary In The Junkyard Announce Debut Album 'Role Model Hermit' With First Single Crash Landing

Mary In The Junkyard have announced their debut album.
The fast-rising London experimental art-rockers will release 'Role Model Hermit' on July 3 via AMF Records, following the success of their 2024 debut EP 'This Old House' and subsequent standalone singles This Is My California, Drains and Midori. The band said:
"Role Model Hermit is full of stories, memories and past lives. We want it to be something that you can get lost in, like a forest or a cave, where you can shelter inside for while to rest and recover."
Written in the UK and America, and recorded in London last summer with Oli Bayston, the album is previewed by the first single, Crash Landing, an expansive, atmospheric ballad that blends cinematic production with introspective lyrics.

Vocalist Clari-Freeman Taylor said: "Crash Landing was written when we fell in love with the warm low drones of the harmonium. At the time we were listening a lot to Life Without Buildings on tour, so I think I was channeling some chirpy scatty poetry when we were jamming. This one is really joyful for me, it is all about change and growth."
The trio will accompany the album's release with a series of UK in-store shows, with stops confirmed in Kingston, Brighton, London, Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow between July 2 and 10.
Before that, they'll support Dove Ellis at shows in Los Angeles and New York between May 27 and 31. Tickets are on sale now.
